Back on Four Paws

Zeus, a big and very energetic dog, came to us limping on his hind leg after a game in the park. The examination and X-rays confirmed a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament — the dog equivalent of a torn ACL.

Our surgical team performed a TPLO, a procedure that changes the angle of the shin bone so the knee stays stable without the ligament. Zeus was monitored under anesthesia throughout and went home the next day with pain relief.

Recovery took patience: eight weeks of short leash walks, no jumping or stairs, and regular check-ups. Today Zeus walks without a limp, and his family has become an expert in leash training!
