Fleas and Ticks: Why Protection Should Last All Year
Fleas and ticks don’t disappear in winter. Here is how to keep your pet protected in every season.
Many owners stop flea and tick treatments when the weather turns cold. Unfortunately, fleas happily survive indoors in warm homes, and ticks become active again on any mild winter day.
A single flea can lay up to 50 eggs a day, and most of the infestation lives in carpets, beds and sofas — not on your pet. Ticks can transmit Lyme disease, anaplasmosis and other infections within hours of attaching.
The safest approach is continuous, year-round protection: a monthly chewable, a spot-on or a long-lasting collar. Ask us which product suits your pet’s weight, lifestyle and the other animals in your home.

I didn't know fleas can survive indoors all winter. We're switching to year-round protection for both our cats.
